Hay & Feed

We use slow feeder hay nets for our horses and recommend them for all boarders because they allow horses to eat slowly over a long period of time. Slow feeders mimic the way horses forage in the wild, help maintain good gut health and keep horses busy when they are in their stalls and dry lots.

We purchase grass hay (timothy /orchard grass/fescue) and alfalfa locally. We also grow, harvest and feed native grass hay (Big Bluestem and Indiangrass) from our 67-acre farm in Warren County, Kentucky.

We use Excel Equine feed products (formerly Producers Feed of Louisville which has merged with Tapp Feeds of Shelbyville). Excel Equine has a wide variety of feeds and supplements for any horse's nutritional needs. Self-care boarders may bring in any type of feed they prefer.
