Facilities
Winter Moon Farm has 20 acres of rolling hills including 8 acres of woodland. There is a trail around the perimeter of the property and through the woods. We have several hills that are good for conditioning your horse.
Boarders also have access to the 60’ x 120’ outdoor arena, a 60’ round pen, trail obstacles and de-spooking equipment for training.
Horses have access to a spacious 12’x12’ run-in stall inside a barn with 24-hour turnout in individual or shared dry lots depending on each horse’s needs.
Dry lots are constructed with state-of-the-art materials that provide excellent footing and drainage in all weather.
The stalls provide warm shelter in the winter, shade and breezes in the summer and healthy ventilation year-round. We use fly predators and see very few flies.
When the weather and pasture conditions are good (not wet or muddy), horses may be turned out in one of several grass paddocks for an hour or two each day and/or in a larger pasture for longer periods with several other horses once or twice a week. When grass gets below 3-4" that paddock gets "rested" until grass has recovered.
